Living the Dream: A Delhi Family's MM2H Expat Life in Malaysia

To be sure, as a family of four from Delhi, my wife and I have had this dream to explore life beyond our bustling city for some time. But it's only when we came across the MM2H visa, and the way it seemed to present the perfect opportunity for us, did the balance tilt in favour of actually going ahead with making our dream reality. With our two young sons eager for new adventures too, we decided to take the plunge and relocate to Malaysia.

What was it that drew us to MM2H? First and foremost, MM2H's financial benefits, followed right behind by the promise of a more easy-going lifestyle, a lifestyle quite different from what we we're used to in Delhi.

Our Journey
Now, for starters, we own a home in Delhi, fully paid off. And we were aware quite early on that renting our place out can provide a steady income. In fact, owing to our Delhi home's size and location, the rental yield will quite comfortably support our lifestyle in Malaysia. We're also aided by the cost of living in Malaysia being significantly lower than in Delhi. Net net, we've estimated that we can count on a rather luxurious lifestyle in Malaysia, no worries whatsoever of financial strain. And this financial freedom was a major factor in our decision to pursue the MM2H visa.

As an IT professional, I found that Malaysia offers ample opportunities for work. The country's burgeoning tech sector and its strategic location in Asia make it an ideal place for someone with my skills. Moreover, being an English speaker gives me a quite an advantage in the Malaysian job market. Meanwhile, my wife, who's a homemaker, has been thrilled with the variety of activities available for her and the kids. Plus, we've discovered that Malaysia's international schools are top-notch, providing our sons with an excellent education while allowing them to mingle with other children from diverse backgrounds, just the kind of thing we know is good for them in today's world.

One of the other appealing aspects of Malaysia, for us, has been the country's clean environment and open spaces. Unlike Delhi, where pollution is a constant concern, Malaysia offers fresh air and plenty of green areas for our boys to play in and explore. We've also been impressed by the infrastructure, which is modern and well-maintained, making daily life convenient and stress-free. The healthcare system is another critical plus; it's affordable and of high quality, giving us peace of mind, knowing that our family will be well taken care of if and when the need arises.

Indian Expat Community
Another major draw for us has been the presence of a large Indian expat community in Malaysia. It's comforting to know that whilst we're on this track to a new future, we're not leaving our culture behind. There are plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Indians. And frankly, the availability of Indian food and cultural events makes Malaysia feel like a home away from home. Not to mention the fact that the two countries aren't even that far apart to begin with, especially since there are quite a few daily flights to and fro.

Overall, our decision to sign up for the MM2H visa has been one of the best choices we've made as a family. It's provided us the chance to live in a beautiful country with a diverse, colourful culture. We also get to enjoy a more laid-back lifestyle and give our children an international education, as well as new experiences.

We're excited about what the future holds for us in Malaysia and we're grateful for the MM2H visa for making our dream a reality.

For those inspired by our journey, the majority of our Malaysia My Second Home Golden Visa information came from MM2H.in.
